The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS33 has a 14 megapixel sensor and 28-224mm wide angle 8x optical zoom lens. It has a 3 inch 230k dot resolution touch panel screen and incorporates a number of high- grade features.
The Intelligent Auto (iA) mode analyses which settings are requires and makes intelligent exposure choices such as backlight correction. Intelligent Auto automatically selects the best scene mode and ISO speed, utilising image stabilization and auto focus. The camera also has a High Sensitivity mode through which the camera automatically increases the ISO speed to help reduce the effects of camera shake, enabling the user to shoot without a flash and achieve a more natural image. As it is part of the Lumix series the camera has an additional optical zoom function which enables the user to extend the lens to a 16.9x equivalent. By using the Quick Menu (Q. Menu) button the user can rapidly access their most frequently used settings, whilst the My Scene mode allows users to quickly select favourite settings. There are also 24 different Scene modes for the user to choose from. The Macro mode can shoot close-up images of a subject down to 5cm.
The Lumix DMC-FS33 digital camera has a fast operating speed owing to its Venus Engine IV processer, and the touch panel is quick and responsive. It has a 40 MB internal memory and is compatible with SD, SDHC, and high capacity SDXC memory cards. It weighs 162g and is 11 x 56.5 x 27.2 mm so it is lightweight and portable. The battery can shoot 300 images before it needs to be re-charged.
The DMC-FS33 also has an HD 1280 x 720p HD Movie mode which shoots at 30 frames per second. Files are recorded in a JPEG format and accessed through an AV/USB out port. The casing of the camera is a mixture of metal and plastic and comes in a brushed metal faceplate available in silver, black or red.
